August 19th at Gallery 500

We have another new site for the monthly authors series, Gallery 500 in Palm Springs. The gallery, located at 500 S. Palm Canyon is part of Ristretto coffee house. The gallery is down the hall from Ristretto in the 500 building. This month’s readers are poet Anita Harmon and inspirational writer Ulrike. The readings begin at two. Refreshments can be purchased at Ristretto and brought into the gallery. An open mic is included, and the authors will have books for sale.

July’s Featured Readings at Colliding Worlds Gallery

July’s featured readings will be held on July 22nd at two o’clock at Colliding Worlds Gallery in Cathedral City. This month we have a quite varied agenda. Lucy Wilson is a poet, Gary Alexander wrote a memoir on his experiences as a drag queen who performed in straight clubs, and Arthur Wilhelm has written a biography on Rita Hayworth. There will be books for sale, and as always a open mic as well.

Next Featured Reading at Colliding Worlds Gallery

This month’s readings at Colliding Worlds Gallery is March 25th at two o’clock. Join us as yours truly, poet D. Marie Fitzgerald, and memoirist Kathy Bjork share their works with you. Kathy’s memoir, entitled My Mother is Losing Her Memory and I am Losing My Mind, chronicles her experience of taking care of her mother who suffered from dementia.

December Featured Reading

The next featured reading at Koffi in Rancho Mirage will be December 16th at two o’clock. This month features poet Lois Batchelor and author Judith L. Butler. This will end our three years at Koffi as a new space has opened for us and that is Art Is Gallery in Westfield Mall in Palm Desert. I may forgo January as I need to line up readers for 2018. Luckily at our Holiday Book Fair at the gallery on the 30th I met many authors who are interested in doing a featured reading in the new year. Exciting!

Holiday Book Fair

November 30th from 11-5 at Art Is Gallery in the Westfield Mall on the upper level close to Macy’s. Twenty-six local authors selling their books. There are also children books. Books make a wonderful Christmas present and promotes reading! Stop by and see us! I will have a table selling my book Reruns, a collection of poetry and prose. There will be many wonderful local authors! This is a great way to support your local artists!

Two upcoming events:

Book Series: November 18th at two o’clock at Koffi in Rancho Mirage located at 71-380 Hwy 111. Patty Farmer will introduce her second book in the Playboy series, Playboy Laughs, highlighting the magazine’s contribution to humor. And Kurt Sipolski, with his biography/memoir about his widowed mother who cared for him when he contracted polio, Too Early for Flowers. An open mic is also included.

Palm Springs Writers Guild Holiday Book Fair: November 30th from 11-5 at ART IS Gallery located in The Westfield Mall, upper level, close to Macy’s. Twenty-six local authors will have books for sale (yours truly being one of them). Books make great Christmas presents!
